NXNE took over the city these past few nights. The North by Northeast Music and Film Festival ran from June 12-15 in Toronto, boasting the title of Canada’s #1 festival for new music. 500 bands, 50 venues, 25 films.

SXSW muxtapes

A few weeks ago I downloaded a promotional torrent of tracks by SXSW 2008 showcase artists. The torrent contained one track by approximately 750 artists. Since then I’ve spent the past couple of weeks listening to this music at work, rating the tracks according to my own personal preferences using iTunes. Continue reading →
